Sandra Seru is the Director of Strategy and Operations for The B Team. With more than twelve years of experience helping companies improve their financial, social and environmental performance, Sandra is passionate about finding new ways to progress sustainable development.

Prior to The B Team, Sandra served as Head of Sustainability & Responsibility Strategy and Reporting at Diageo plc, a FTSE 100 beverage company operating in 180 markets. She came to this role from Diageo’s corporate strategy and M&A team, and focused on aligning commercial and sustainability goals across the company’s value chain. She developed the company’s first holistic corporate social responsibility strategy, social impact management system, online sustainability report and integrated annual report.

Prior to Diageo, Sandra spent five years at Business for Social Responsibility, a nonprofit business membership organization, where she advised multinational companies on how to contribute to local sustainable development. With a particular focus on extractives companies, much of her work took place in rural, indigenous communities across North and South America. One of her projects won an award from the Latin American Mining Ministry for facilitating the “most innovative experience of integrating a community and mining company in Latin America.” Based on her fieldwork, Sandra developed a proprietary measurement framework to assess the mining industry’s impact on local communities.

Sandra currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Resolution Project, which provides early stage investment and support to young social entrepreneurs around the world. She also volunteers for iMentor, which aims to empower students in low-income communities to achieve their educational and professional ambitions.

Sandra has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Harvard University.
